David had a number of previous successes in obtaining damages in the growing area of asbestos related lung cancer. Included in this number were several cases where the client had not also been diagnosed with asbestosis - which can make recovery of compensation for lung cancer much more difficult. He has also achieved a record compensation settlement on behalf of a living mesothelioma client and secured compensation for nurses, teachers and others exposed to low levels of asbestos. David deals with most of the firm's Norfolk based clients. David is an accredited member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers. He also co-ordinates the firm's involvement in the Right to Read scheme in Sheffield, sending volunteers into local schools to read with Y1 and Y2 pupils.
Born and brought up in Lancashire, David studied biology in Manchester before joining the Civil Service and moving to London. There he studied law as an external student of the University of London and completed his post graduate Legal Practice Course whilst working for the Lord Chancellor's Department/Court Service in the Court of Appeal. David joined Irwin Mitchell at its principal office in Sheffield in 2001.
