Lump Sum Payments

In most cases, if you have been diagnosed with mesothelioma, you should be entitled to a lump sum payment made by the government (Department for Work and Pensions).  Payments vary depending on your age and whether your illness was contracted through your work.  You may even receive a payment if you do not remember where you came in contact with asbestos.

If your asbestos exposure was not as a result of work, you may be entitled to claim a lump-sum payment under the government's diffuse mesothelioma payment scheme. Payments under this scheme vary depending on your age when you were diagnosed with mesothelioma. Find out more about the diffuse mesothelioma payment scheme

Your consultant or specialist nurse will need to complete a form confirming your diagnosis (BI100pna).

A representative from Irwin Mitchell would be happy to guide you through the process and forms. Contact us here.
