Asbestos Manufactures and Insulation Companies

Workers in the asbestos and insulation industries were often exposed to asbestos when the asbestos insulation was applied to things like boilers and heating pipes. Raw asbestos fibres were typically mixed with water in large drums before being applied to the pipes or boilers like plaster. The insulation was usually applied in layers with chicken wire in between.

Many workers were also exposed during the manufacture of asbestos products. For example, asbestos was manufactured into boards which were baked and cut into smaller sections to be sold on. As well as exposing the workers manufacturing and cutting the boards to asbestos, the warehousemen and delivery drivers were often exposed when handling the asbestos boards as they were being distributed to customers.

The process of manufacturing asbestos products also posed dangers to those living locally. We have successfully pursued claims against asbestos insulation companies for the effects of the release of asbestos on local residents, notably against J W Roberts for their site at Armley.

We have acted for many Clients against asbestos manufacture and insulation companies including:-

  • Babcock & Wilcox
  • Cape Asbestos
  • Darlington’s Insulation Company
  • Joseph Nadin Limited
  • J W Roberts
  • Turner & Newall
