Chemotherapy

Many cancer patients undergo chemotherapy treatment where anti-cancer drugs are introduced to the patients’ bloodstream to try to stop the growth of the cancer cells and ultimately destroy them. Chemotherapy cannot cure mesothelioma but it is believed it can help those suffering from it to live longer and to improve their quality of life.

Chemotherapy drugs can be given to a patient by injection, by drip, by infusion pump, where a controlled amount of the drug is given over hours or even days, or via a tablet, capsule or liquid
