The Government has announced that lump sum payments to people with mesothelioma under the 2008 Mesothelioma Scheme will increase by around 40% from April.
The increase means that people who develop mesothelioma as a result of exposure to asbestos in a non-work setting will now receive the same level of payment as those exposed to asbestos at work.
