Manchester Asbestos Lawyer Gets Back In The Saddle For Charity

17/06/2010

Katrina London, asbestos lawyer in our Manchester office, will be cycling over 300 miles to raise money for the Greater Manchester Asbestos Victims Support Group and Asbestos Action Tayside.

Last year Katrina took part in the “Breathtaking Journey”, a 1,200 mile cycle ride to raise awareness of the dangers of asbestos.

This year Katrina will be taking part in four cycle rides as part of her fundraising. She has already tackled the Norwich 100 and will then be taking on the Trossachs Ton which is a 100 mile ride around Loch Katrine.

Katrina then heads south to cycle the Devon coast to coast before heading back to Scotland for Asbestos Action Tayside’s fund raising ride around the mouth of the Tay.

Talking about the gruelling schedule Katrina said: “Although it feels as if cycling has taken over my life preparing for this challenge, when I think of the battles victims of asbestos disease have every day it puts those efforts into perspective.  I was both moved and inspired by the courage and strength of so many of the victims of asbestos diseases and their families that I met last year on our breathtaking journey.

“I hope that the money raised for the Asbestos Victim Support Groups will help with the excellent work they do on behalf of asbestos victims, which includes providing welfare benefits advice, campaigning on asbestos issues and raising money for research into asbestos diseases.”
