57 patients took part in the trial. All had been treated with chemotherapy in the past.
The patients were divided into two groups. One group received NGR-hTNF every three weeks while the other group received it weekly. In both cases the drug was administered intravenously.
The results of the trial were positive, particularly for those patients that were given the drug every week.
After 6 months of the trial, patients given the drug every week had progression-free survival rates that were almost three times higher than those given the drug every three weeks. Patients given the drug weekly also found that their disease was controlled for a longer period of time.
MolMed will now start another trial which combines NGR-hTNF with cisplatin.
